Founded in Beijing by musician Shen Lihui, Modern Sky Entertainment is the leading music entertainment company in mainland China. Launched as a small indie-rock record label and music magazine publisher in 1997, Modern Sky’s core businesses today include record label, artist management, studio production, large-scale music festival and concert tour promotion, event ticketing, live house management, live and on-demand video streaming, publishing, industry conference, and more.
Modern Sky Records has released 200+ albums by many of China’s most seminal artists. Modern Sky concerts include 500+ shows per year featuring Chinese and global acts. As the largest outdoor music festival operator in China, Modern Sky produces the Strawberry Music Festival in 15+ cities, 500 KM Music Festival Kunming, MDSK Festival Chengdu, and Modern Sky Festivals overseas – attracting more than 3 million music fans annually.

Since 2006, Modern Sky USA has managed North American (and beyond) operations from New York City. Additionally, Modern Sky USA provides global partners with a wide range of services, including concert and festival event booking and production support; event sponsorship and marketing management; audio and video production and distribution; pr and digital communication; and various artist services for North America and China markets.
In 2014, Modern Sky USA launched the Modern Sky Festival NYC in Central Park. Featuring Western and Chinese artists including Cat Power, Liars, Re-TROS, Queen Sea Big Shark, and more, the festival served to bridge Chinese and American music fans and artists. Since then, Modern Sky Festivals have been held in Seattle, Helsinki and Los Angeles.
